Aircraft Description
Background/History
In January 1964, the first Beechcraft 65-90 took to the air. Based on the piston-engined Model 65 Queen Air, the -90 featured the then-new Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprop powerplants in place of the earlier 65’s Lycoming IGSO-480-A1E6 flat-six piston engines. A pressurized model was developed, and was designated the King Air 90. Many variants followed including the PT6A-20 powered A90 and B90, and the C90 series powered by the PT6A-21. The E90, introduced in 1972, was essentially an upgraded C90 powered by a pair of PT6A-28 turboprop engines which were flat-rated to 550 shp. When production ceased on the E90 in 1981, 347 aircraft had been built.
Power
The King Air E90 is powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney PT6A-28 turboprop engines flat-rated to 550shp each, driving a pair of three-blade, full-feathering constant speed propellers. Inspection interval on the engines is 3,600 hours

Design Features
The King Air E90 is a pressurized, twin-engine turboprop business aircraft configured as a cantilever low-wing monoplane with a conventional tail. It has hydraulically-actuated retractable tricycle landing gear with a single wheel on each unit and an airstair door on the port side, aft of the wing.. The aircraft utilizes dual bleed air for cabin heating and pressurization. The three-blade propellers are full-feathering and reversable. Leading-edge pneumatic boots provide de-icing for the wing and tail surfaces.
Accomodations
The King Air E90 is found in a variety of passenger configurations, with a typical executive congfiguration being a four-place club, a seat across from the airstair door, and a belted lavatory seat. The aft cabin/lavatory has a small baggage storage area. Internal cabin dimensions are 4.8in. in height, 4.5in. in width and 12.7in. in length.
